Katharine studied Law at the University of Liverpool and thereafter at the College of Law, Chester. Following a period of travel, Katharine joined Canter Levin & Berg as a trainee solicitor in November 2005 and is now Head of our Employment Law department. She deals in all aspects of Employment Law but specialises in providing non contentious employment advice and compliance to both small business ventures and larger companies. In particular, Katharine is experienced in giving advice to companies concerning starting out in industry and reorganisation and can draft a wide range of company documentation in accordance with the individual needs of the business.
Katharine specialises in making sure that employers have all their employment law and HR requirements in place and up to date. Her pleasant manner is combined with her knowledge of employment law issues from a legal perspective so that she makes sure that employers have maximum protection and immediate support in connection with all problems which they may encounter on a day to day basis. Katharine is “on call” to deal with her clients in a way which her clients really appreciate. She will always take the next step to make sure that problems are solved quickly, efficiently and professionally.
In addition, Katharine has a particular interest in discrimination and unfair dismissal claims and has dealt with a variety of matters within these areas of law. Katharine prides herself on her excellent relationship with her clients and ability to explain legal matters in a clear and down to earth manner.
Katharine has successfully represented a number of well established businesses in the North West which have included many public sector organisations such as schools, GP practices and residential homes. Katharine has also provided specialist advice to companies dealing in construction and manual labour.
